View resource consumption

Query the Rating service for a summary of resource consumption, grouped by service type or time period, to review your project costs.

Procedure

  1. Access the remote shell for the openstackclient pod from your workstation: 
    $ oc rsh -n openstack openstackclient
  2. Request a summary of your usage: 
    $ openstack rating summary get -g <group_id> --filter <filter> \
  -b <begin> -e <end>

    where:

    <group_id>

    Specifies the ID of the attribute or time period to use to group the summary results. To specify a grouping by time, use one of the following options:

    • "time-d": Group data by day of the year.
    • "time-w": Group data by week of the year.
    • "time-m": Group data by month.
    • "time-y": Group data by year.
    <filter>
    Specifies a filter in "key:value" format.
    <begin>
    Specifies the start of the period to query in iso8601 format, for example, 2019-05-01T00:00:00Z. If not set, the period begins on the 1st day of the month.
    <end>
    Specifies the end of the period to query in iso8601 format, for example, 2019-06-01T00:00:00Z. If not set, the period ends on the 1st day of the next month.
    $ openstack rating summary get -g type

  3. Exit the openstackclient pod: 
    $ exit
