Maintain the cloud infrastructure

When you operate the cloud, reboot or remove the entire Red Hat OpenStack Services on OpenShift (RHOSO) cloud from the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (RHOCP) cluster to perform maintenance operations on the cluster without impacting the deployment.

To perform maintenance on your RHOSO environment, you must shut down and start the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (RHOCP) cluster and all the data plane nodes in a specific order to ensure minimal issues when you restart your cluster and data plane nodes. You can also remove a RHOSO deployment from the RHOCP environment if you no longer require the RHOSO deployment.

Prerequisites

  • An operational RHOSO environment.
  • You are logged on to a workstation that has access to the RHOSO control plane as a user with cluster-admin privileges.
  • The oc command line tool is installed on the workstation.
  • You are familiar with the preparation steps required when rebooting RHOCP nodes, as detailed in the RHOCP "Nodes" guide.
