4.2. Red Hat Enterprise Linux updates

Review the June 2026 updates and fixes for Red Hat Lightspeed running on RHEL systems.

4.2.1. Inventory

Image Builder information available on the System Details page
The System Details page includes a dedicated Image Builder card where you can view image information without leaving the page. The card displays the image Name and Target, providing quick access to details about the image used to provision the system. Select the image name to open the corresponding image in the Image Builder service.
Customizable columns in the Systems inventory are available in Preview

Inventory Views is available in Hybrid Cloud Console Preview mode. You can view the information that matters most in Red Hat Lightspeed > RHEL > Inventory > Systems.

With Inventory Views, you can customize the Systems table by choosing which columns to display, so you can focus on the data most relevant to your workflow. Your column selections persist across sessions, so your preferred view loads each time you return to inventory.

  • Customize your Systems table by selecting the columns you want to display.
  • Reorder columns by dragging and dropping them into your preferred position.
  • Personalize your view to surface the information that is most important to your day-to-day tasks.
  • Persistent preferences keep your column selections across sessions.

To get started, navigate to Inventory Systems, open the Actions menu (⋮), and select Manage columns.

Note

Inventory Views is currently available in Preview mode. Feedback is welcome because the experience continues to be refined before general availability.

UI enhancements and fixes
  • The Operating System filter supports type-ahead search, so that you can find specific operating system releases faster.
  • All inventory API responses include a new workspace field alongside the existing group field. The new field returns a single workspace object rather than a list containing one item. If you use the groups field in custom integrations, migrate to the workspace field.

4.2.2. Remediations

Changes to remote host configuration management
The remediations service no longer depends on the remote host configuration manager permissions to be enabled. You can execute remediation playbooks on systems connected using rhc without it. To manage remote playbook execution on individual hosts, install or remove the rhc-worker-playbook package as needed.

4.2.3. Subscriptions

Notifications for Application Services software releases
You can subscribe to notifications for new releases of individual Red Hat Application Services products and components. Supported products include Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform and Red Hat build of OpenJDK. These notifications replace the earlier Application Services release notifications from the Red Hat Customer Portal.

4.2.4. Planning

Roadmap email reports available

You can subscribe to a periodic email report that summarizes planned changes to the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) roadmap. The report arrives directly in your inbox and helps you stay informed about upcoming platform updates without regularly checking the roadmap.

The Roadmap email report includes:

  • Additions: Newly planned roadmap items.
  • Deprecations: Features or capabilities planned for deprecation.
  • Changes: Updates to existing roadmap items.

To subscribe, navigate to User Preferences and enable the Roadmap report under the Planning section.
