About Red Hat OpenShift for NVIDIA

Red Hat OpenShift for NVIDIA is a specialized, partner-optimized edition of OpenShift Container Platform. It addresses the gap between NVIDIA hardware availability and standard OpenShift Container Platform release cycles, enabling early testing on next-generation NVIDIA hardware.

Important

Red Hat OpenShift for NVIDIA is a Technology Preview feature only. Technology Preview features are not supported with Red Hat production service level agreements (SLAs) and might not be functionally complete. Red Hat does not recommend using them in production. These features provide early access to upcoming product features, enabling customers to test functionality and provide feedback during the development process.

For more information about the support scope of Red Hat Technology Preview features, see Technology Preview Features Support Scope.

To align with NVIDIA’s rapid hardware and software release cadence, this edition uses custom Red Hat Enterprise Linux CoreOS (RHCOS) node images built on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) for NVIDIA. This enables early hardware adoption, specialized node layering, and driver compatibility for accelerated AI workloads without waiting for standard OpenShift Container Platform release cycles.

Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization, and Red Hat AI each produce their own releases based on RHEL for NVIDIA to support the latest hardware innovations.

The current release is named 26.02, which indicates the release year and the sequential release number for that year. Red Hat OpenShift for NVIDIA releases quarterly, targeting 3 to 6 weeks after a RHEL for NVIDIA release.

Red Hat OpenShift for NVIDIA 26.02 is based on OpenShift Container Platform 4.22 and has been tested on single-node clusters.

Red Hat OpenShift for NVIDIA is available under the Red Hat AI Enterprise subscription.
